Dear Blake Families,

Happy Monday! I hope this email finds everyone staying warm, having enjoyed a nice weekend. I am reaching out to let all families know that students will be completing a brief ‘Connectedness Check-In’ (via Google Form) this week in Advisory on Thursday, February 6. Our hope is for every Blake student to have a trusted adult at school and to feel connected in our community, and the check-in is a practice we do annually at this time of year.

Students will be asked the following questions…

  • If you wanted to ask for help at school with a big or small problem, which adult at school would you feel comfortable going to? Please list the names of the adults. If you do not have any adults that you would feel comfortable going to in our school, you may write “no one”.

  • Please explain why you feel comfortable going to these adults. What is it about them that makes them helpful or approachable?

  • What do you think the adults who work at Blake could do to make you feel more welcomed at school?

  • Do you feel connected to other students at Blake?

  • What ideas do you have for how the school can help you or other students feel more connected?

The responses from students will guide us in our efforts to establish a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our students. If you have any questions about the check-in, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s school counselor, Kelly Campbell, or me.

Take care.
Nat
