Notes from the nurse

Dear 7th grade parents/guardians:

SBIRT screening for 7th graders will take place starting next week on March 27th. SBIRT stands for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment.  SBIRT is a state mandated, verbal screening program with the goal of providing early identification, education and prevention of harm from substance use.  The school nurses have found this individualized screening to be very beneficial in educating students about the risks of substance use.  SBIRT screenings are scheduled during 7th grade health and physical education classes.  All health screenings are confidential and done on an individualized basis to protect the privacy of each child.

For more information about the SBIRT program, please click here.

If you prefer to opt your 7th grade child(ren) out of SBIRT Screening, then please click on the link below and submit the form online prior to this Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 6pm when the form will no longer be accepting responses.
