FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE

POST-SECONDARY PLANNING - CLASS OF 2023 PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Please mark your calendars! The Guidance Counselors would like to invite parents and guardians of the Class of 2023 to join us for a lunchtime webinar on Monday, September 19th at noon.  We will be sharing information and resources about post-secondary planning. We hope you can join us on the 19th at noon! A link to the webinar will be provided to all families on the morning of the event. For those who are unable to join us, the webinar will be recorded and shared with all families. 

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES (CLASS OF 2025)
The PRE-ACT will be held at MHS on Saturday, October 15th at 7:45AM.  The test is approximately three hours long. This OPTIONAL practice test for the ACT is normed for sophomores and is a great LOW-STAKES introduction into the college admissions testing window. 

To register, families will log onto http://aptsusa.com/medfield

The fee for the test will be $35.00 with an option for a fee reduction.  The registration window will be from Thursday, September 15th through Saturday, October 8th, 2022

ATTENTION JUNIORS (CLASS OF 2024)
In October of 2022 Medfield High School will be offering the PSAT for all juniors.  This OPTIONAL practice test in preparation for the real SATs. The PSAT will be held at MHS on Saturday, October 15th at 7:45AM.  The test is approximately three hours long.

STUDENT MILITARY OPT-OUT FORM
In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), school districts must now provide, upon request, the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all secondary students (grades 9-12) to military recruiters and institutions of higher education provided that the school notifies parents and students of their right to request that this information not be released without their prior written consent and that the school complies with such requests.

Parents and students who are at least fourteen years old may request that the student's name, address, and telephone number not be released.  Complete this FORM if you are requesting that your student's name, address, and telephone numbers(s) NOT be released to Armed Forces, Military Recruiters, or Military Schools. 

This FORM must be submitted by October 1, 2022.

Ghouls and Goblins of all ages: Already thinking about Halloween? Have an idea for an original spooky story? Now is your chance to share it with Medfield and win some cool prizes! The top five stories will be read during an episode of Medfield TV's original show, Spooktober, which airs on local cable and YouTube at the end of October.
