  • Class Dues ($20/student/year)  Invoices are available on the MySchoolBucks portal. Please pay online at your earliest convenience. Please note that for seniors, the funds are used to purchase caps and gowns for graduation, class gifts, and to offset the cost of senior events such as prom and the senior night out.

We are excited to invite you to a special family webinar entitled, "Belonging in Medfield," featuring Dr. Stephanie Pinder-Amaker and Dr. Lauren Wadsworth on Tuesday, April 15, at 6:30 PM.

This engaging session will explore important topics such as identity, common barriers to belonging, and actionable steps for students and parents to strengthen their relationships.

PROM TICKETS ON SALE

Dear Juniors and Seniors,

Prom tickets are on sale now until Monday, April 28! The event will be held on Friday, May 2 from 7:00-10:30 at  Gillette Stadium. Juniors and Seniors may purchase up to two tickets per person.

A ticket for the Prom bus is included in the price of the Prom ticket. Medfield Outreach and the Medfield Cares About Prevention (MCAP) Coalition have covered most of the cost of prom bus transportation for all students attending the prom this year. 

Tickets can be purchased HERE on the My School Bucks portal.

FROM THE SCHOOL COUNSELING OFFICE

A representative from the United States Army Corp will be visiting MHS during Flex period on Wednesday, April 16th.  Students interested in learning more about this branch of the military can sign up in MFL for Flex A and/or Flex B under College Visits.  The information sessions will be held in the Guidance/School Counseling Office.


TRACK & FIELD TEAM BAKE SALE

Support the Boys and Girls Track Teams!

The track team is running a bake sale to help raise funds for the team's end of season celebrations.

It will be held after school on Tuesday, April 15 for students of MHS

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD NEWS

Science Olympiad is a team-based competition that challenges students in various STEM fields. It consists of multiple events that test participants’ knowledge and skills in areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, engineering, and  problem-solving. These events can be hands-on, inquiry-based, or knowledge-based, including lab experiments, building projects, and written exams. Each team prepares for months to excel in specific events, which rotate annually to cover different topics. The competition encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of STEM concepts while fostering a love for science and innovation. 

Medfield competes in the West Suburban League and this year placed 12th overall.  Highlights of the year include placing 1st in Ecology, 6th in Anatomy & Physiology, and 7th in Science Trivia. The team is captained by seniors Silas Trotter and Ella Mulready.  

Students also competed in the Mass State competition at Wentworth Institute of Technology in March where they placed 8th in Anatomy & Physiology (E. Mulready, B. Jennings), 8th in Experimental Design (C. Puthiaparambil, J. Resch, S. Zeppieri) and 10th in Architectural Engineering (L. Hurley, S. Sahr). 

Finally, students competed against 270 schools in the Rickards National Invitational placing 6th in Anagrams (S. Sahr, E. Leong), 21st in Ornithology (R. Cabezud) and 43rd in Geoguesser (L. Hurley, B. Jennings).

SEPAC NEWS

Medfield SEPAC is now accepting nominations for the second annual Jim James Inclusion award. This award honors Medfield Public School employees who, like Jim James, make outstanding efforts on behalf of students with special educational needs to promote and model inclusion. Please help us to identify those educators who deserve this recognition by filling out the nomination form. Thank you for taking the time to help us celebrate those in our district who go the extra mile for our students. We look forward to reading your nominations!


FROM THE MCPE

🌺Indulge Mom with a special gift while supporting Medfield Public Schools in time for Mother’s Day! MCPE has partnered with Medfield Wine Shoppe and Around the Plate to offer a Wine & Charcuterie box for two. For $100, this gift includes a delicious charcuterie box and two bottles of premium wine that will pair with it beautifully (one red, one white, selected by Medfield Wine Shoppe). A portion of proceeds from each order will go back toward MCPE grants in our schools!

FROM THE MEDFIELD FOUNDATION

The MFi Youth Leadership Program is awarding $1,000 in grant funding this spring with a portion of the money raised from the 2024 Angel Run. The funding is meant to better our Medfield community in some way. To be eligible to receive a grant, organizations must serve the citizens of Medfield either in whole or in part. There must be a compelling need for the grant, or it must be used for a specific project. Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention Hosts “Path for Hope” on Medfield Rail Trail for Mental Health Awareness Month

This Mental Health Awareness Month, the Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP)

invites the community to join Path for Hope on Sunday, May 4th, at 11:30 AM on the Medfield Rail Trail. This event is an important opportunity to build community, foster healing, and promote emotional resilience, an essential protective factor in reducing the risk of suicide.

Jazz Choir Receives 5th GOLD MEDAL!

Congratulations to the MHS Jazz Choir / Soundwaves who participated in the Massachusetts Association for Jazz Educators (MAJE) this past Saturday and earned yet another GOLD medal! Seniors Vivienne Ladd, Ehlias Arias and Noah Hutchinson also received Outstanding Musician Awards. The ensemble, under the direction of Ann Marie Tremblay, will perform in the Gold Medal Showcase at Boston's Hatch Shell on the Esplanade on Sunday, May 4th.  Bravo to such a hard working and talented group of singers!

Jazz Night was SPECTACULAR!

This past Friday evening, the music program's five jazz ensembles performed brilliantly alongside world renowned event headliner Christine Fawson! Christine elevated the already electric auditorium atmosphere with her professional energy, charisma and engagement with all of the student musicians on stage. The show brought down the house and ended in a resounding and enthusiastic standing ovation! Thank you to the Medfield Music Association for all of their hard work in coordinating the event and to the dedicated students and directors who left the audience with truly a musical "Night to Remember!" 


SCIENCE OPPORTUNITIES

An Astronomical Writing Contest  

The Galactic Inquirer is co-hosting a pilot astronomical science writing contest for high-school students. A variety of genres are acceptable, including essays, speculative fiction, dramatic pieces, and more. Finalists can receive publishing opportunities, astronomical equipment, and more.

The deadline to submit a piece has been extended to April 15.

The Bow Seat – Ocean Awareness Contest   

The 14th annual Ocean Awareness Contest is a platform for young people to learn about environmental issues through art-making and creative communication, explore their relationship to a changing world, and become advocates for positive change. Students participate by creating art that showcases their connection to the natural world. Students can apply in a variety of categories, including digital art, handcrafted art, film, poetry, and more. Students ages 11-18 from around the world are invited to participate.

The cost of the 8 hour party, full of non-stop entertainment, food, refreshments, and amazing party decorations is $200 per student.

We rely totally on donations to ensure ALL students can attend no matter their means.

The purpose of the party is to keep our kids safe while celebrating for the last time as the Class of 2025.
