Science Teachers on Halloween

Are you curious about what is happening in the science classrooms?

Biology students conducted an experiment to determine the effects of fertilizer on the growth of Fast Plants.

Physics students built and used a candy wave machine to explore the properties of waves.

AP Environmental students raised butterflies from larva to calculate energy efficiency in the ecosystem.

Marine Club meeting discussion upcoming beach clean ups.

Chemistry students used spectroscopes to observe the excited state of several elements and compounds. The students viewed glass tubes containing different substances that were illuminated with a power source. The spectroscopes used a prism to bend the light and graph the emission spectra of the substances. The students then drew the line-emission spectra that they observed in the spectroscopes on paper using colored pencils.

While other Chemistry students created a periodic table in the hallway. Each student researched their own element to end “The Atom” unit.
