HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHTS

Periodically, we will include a Handbook Highlight to help parents and guardians navigate the ins and outs of your child’s educational journey. In each installment, we will shine a spotlight on a section of the MHS Student Handbook, equipping you with useful information.

TARDINESS POLICY AND DEFINITION

  • Any student not in their first-period classroom by 7:40 a.m. will be considered tardy. Office detention will result following the third unexcused tardiness per term.

  • Unexcused tardiness to any class in excess of ten minutes will result in an unexcused absence from that class.

  • Three unexcused class tardies per term may result in a teacher detention.

Office detentions are held after school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each week from 2:15-2:45 in Room 119. Students have one week to serve detentions from the date they are notified in person by the main office staff.
