MESSAGE FROM ANGP 2024

THE ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY IS THIS SATURDAY JUNE 1ST.

We are in desperate need of volunteers during the hours of 12am - 5am June 2nd.

One of the most popular activities during the night are the black jack and roulette tables - we don’t have anyone signed up to work these tables so we may need to cancel them.

PLEASE help us in providing the fun for these graduating seniors while keeping them safe.

Medfield has been creating this wonderful party for 31 years - please don’t let it be in jeopardy due to lack of volunteers.

THANK YOU FOR SIGNING UP

FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE

Congressman Auchincloss’ office is hosting a Virtual Service Academy Night on Tuesday, May 28th from 6:00-7:30 pm. This is an opportunity for high school students in grades 9-11 to learn more about the application process for the five United States Service Academies: West Point, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marines, and Coast Guard.

Durng the Academy Night, students will hear from Congressman Auchincloss’ staff about the Congressional nomination process required for four of the five service academies (Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination). Representatives from each of the service academics will also share information about the individual schools' application processes.

Pre-registration for the webinar is required. Students and parents may register for the webinar at this LINK.

MEDFIELD TV'S T.E.A.M. FILMMAKING

Welcome to our T.E.A.M.! Teen Entertainment Arts & Media programs are for rising high school sophomores through seniors who want to build their digital media skills and add to their professional portfolios.

Over the course of eight 5-hour days, students will work in groups to conceptualize, write, shoot, and edit a short film. They will be challenged to convey emotion and story through actions and sounds instead of through dialogue.

Students will be given a simulated budget to spend on “renting” any of our filmmaking equipment such as DSLRs, dollies, cranes, gimbals, sliders, lighting, and more. Medfield TV’s staff of professionally trained media experts will train students on the fundamentals of filmmaking and video editing, and will mentor students throughout every step of the production process.

Students may add their final projects to their demo reels or portfolios, and projects will air on Medfield TV’s cable channels and YouTube channel.

Visit medfield.tv/team for more information and to apply!

SUMMER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Are you interested in helping escort Thomas Upham House wheelchair residents so they can enjoy the MEMO Concerts on Thursday evenings this summer?

The Thomas Upham House is looking for volunteers to do just that!

If you are interested and able to help escort some of their residents in wheelchairs to and from the outdoor MEMO concerts at the Gazebo next to the Medfield Public Library, SIGN UP HERE. If you have questions, please reach out to llanger@rehabma.net.

This is a family friendly service opportunity, great for teens and adults. Nice conversation with some Medfield seniors to and from a wonderful outdoor concert.

YOUNG ADULT DOCUMENT SIGNING DAY

At the fall Open House, Attorney Deb Hedges (also a senior parent) shared important legal documents that students should sign after they turn 18. The forms allow parents or guardians to continue to help make financial, legal, and health choices for their adult children after coming of age in Massachusetts. These forms should be signed before a Notary Public or witnessed by independent persons, or both.

We will provide the blank forms and help 18-year-olds understand how to fill them out.
