Students will graduate with the ability to think critically and communicate effectively using technology skillfully and ethically. They will pair these academic skills with empathy and resilience in preparation for adulthood.
Students will be able to balance responsibilities with their physical and social-emotional well-being. Students will also show a willingness to take risks, and understand mistakes are part of the journey of a lifelong learner.

Medfield High School Jazz Combo Earns Silver Medal
On Saturday, April 27, 2024 the Medfield High School Jazz Combo performed for MAJE (Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education) at Wellesley High School. The Jazz Combo is directed by Mr. Steve Skop and is comprised of the following seven select music students from grades 9-12:
Marco Benson – Bass (grade 12)
Robert Cabezud – Trumpet (grade 9)
Abigail Cartisser – Saxophone (grade 10)
Warren Churchill – Piano (grade 10)
Sasha Mazurenko – Bass Guitar (grade 12)
Alex Richards – Drums (grade 12)
Nash Ten Hagen – Trumpet (grade 9)
The Jazz Combo performed three songs in front of two adjudicators and earned a SILVER medal. The Outstanding Musicianship Awards were given to Seniors: Marco Benson, Sasha Mazurenko and Alex Richards. Playing in a small group ensemble gives students the opportunity to develop their improvisation skills and engage in “real-world” music making in the setting that most jazz music is played today. Congratulations to the Medfield Music Department and these talented and dedicated jazz musicians!
