SENIORS! Local scholarships are now available!

We encourage all seniors to apply! Students should check their email or Google Classroom to access the application.

All local scholarship and award applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, January 25th at 3:00 pm. No late applications will be considered.

There are two separate application processes: a general award application and specific individual applications.

  • Completion of the general award application will make students eligible for about 25 scholarships. This is a Google form students fill out one time.

  • There are also about 30 scholarships that have their own application. These applications are all due to Mrs. McGrory in the School Counseling Office by 3:00pm on the 25th.

Additionally, we have scholarships, with awards ranging from $500 - $50,000 listed on the School Counseling Website! Each scholarship has its own deadline - with many not due until January, February, or even March. Check out these scholarship opportunities on the School Counseling Website

Please see your School Counselor with any questions.

GIRLS WHO START (GWS) NEWS

On January 4th, the Girls Who Start (GWS) MHS chapter of the national organization welcomed attorney Ms. Erin Fontana, partner, Warren & Fontana LLC.

A highly interesting presentation with time for Q&A, Ms. Fontana explained both the challenges and advantages to owning her business. While all the accounting, marketing, and ongoing business requirements can take a lot of time and searching for the right support, but on the positive side, Ms. Fontana recounted she enjoys flexible hours, as well as using her position to make the lives of her clients better and creating a fair, flexible, and cost-friendly environment.

The GWS members and visitors gained many insights about her experiences as a professional woman practicing law, what it means to be a business owner, how to manage your time, balance family responsibilities, and to do what makes you happy. The assembled were also taught some harder life lessons about understanding the difference between being underestimated versus disrespected being because of gender. But! Ms. Fontana also shared turning underestimation to your advantage!

After graduating summa cum laude from BC law, Ms. Fontana clerked for the Honorable Peter J. Walsh, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. A former Associate in the Bankruptcy and Business Restructuring Group of Ropes & Gray, LLP, Ms. Fontana redirected her practice focus to Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Elder Law, and Real Estate as a partner in Warren & Fontana LLC. Erin Fontana, Attorney at Law

A big thank you to Ms. Fontana from Girls Who Start Medfield!

Our Communications Workshop will be held on January 23rd at 7:30 pm in the Blake Middle School Library. This popular workshop will teach participants to create a one-page snapshot of their child. This resource is helpful for teachers, coaches, counselors, babysitters, and anyone who interacts with your child. We offer childcare for these workshops, and a remote link can be provided upon request. Please RSVP to sepac@email.medfield.net and bring a laptop or tablet with you to work on your snapshot.

Parent Connection Groups, each focused on a different diagnosis, are underway. These groups are informal meet-ups for parents and caregivers to connect and exchange resources on a particular diagnosis. They are coordinated by a parent volunteer. Your child does not need an IEP, 504 or be in the Medfield Public School system to join. This group is for any parent who wishes to connect with other parents who have experience with this diagnosis. If you are interested in joining the Down Syndrome, ADHD, ASD or Dyslexia + LBLD or Mental Health groups please email sepac@email.medfield.net

*************************

To ALL SENIOR FAMILIES:

Happy New Year from the All Night Grad Party Committee Members!!

The time has started now and we’re in full force in creating the party of the year to celebrate the Class of 2024’s Graduation!! As you know, it literally takes a village and we need your help to make it an incredible experience for your Seniors.

If you are not familiar, it’s an 8 hour party on the day of Graduation (June 1st) full of incredible fun while being in a SAFE environment. The time flies as there is SO much for the Graduates to do throughout the night. They will be entertained, there will be games, there will be food and refreshments throughout the night and decorations that transform the school so it’s unrecognizable.

As you can imagine this takes much planning, expense, and rolled up sleeves.

The average cost per student has been worked out to be $200 each. But to allow ALL students to attend, no matter their means, we rely totally on donations, there are no tickets. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to enable us to keep this successful Medfield tradition alive and as amazing as the kids have experienced in previous years.

To make your donation or find out more about how you can help up, please visit www.medfieldangp.com

All Senior donations receive a CLASS OF 2024 CAR MAGNET as a thank you!!!

Please email if you have any questions: angpmedfield@gmail.com
Thank you!!!

To ALL Families:

It’s all about paying it forward. We rely on parents from ALL grades to help pull the All Night Grad Party together for the Graduating class.

The party has been an amazing Medfield tradition for over 31 years with past graduates saying it was one of the best experiences from all of their Medfield school memories.

Please help us keep this tradition alive by volunteering in any capacity. If your student is a Senior you can still help leading up to the event. Come to our first introductory meeting on Wednesday January, 17th at 7pm in MHS Library and learn about everything that’s involved in pulling this great party together.

See you there!
Thank you
