HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHT #10
National Honor Society (NHS)
Eligibility:
Eligibility requirements are set by the National Honor Society and Local Council. Membership in the NHS (for the 2023-2024 school year) will be based upon the following combination of national and local requirements:
- Candidates must be full-time students and members of 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
- Candidates must have been in attendance at MHS for the equivalent of one semester.
- Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average by semester of 3.33. Candidates shall then be evaluated on the basis of service, leadership, and character. The selection process will begin after the close of first semester grades each year.
- All four character criteria – scholarship, leadership, service, and character – are selection determinants.
- Parents and students must understand that membership in the NHS is a privilege, not a right.

FROM THE THEATRE SOCIETY
Theatre Society to perform Grease, November 17-19
Grease travels all the way back to 1958, capturing a sugary and idealized view of teenhood in its early stages. Back when love, slumber parties and prom were the main worries of many teenagers, it brings the audience back to simpler times. Guaranteed to spread a wave of nostalgia to an older audience, and a perception of hope and excitement to the younger audience.
Fresh off their summer love, Danny and Sandy never thought they would see each other again. But when their paths cross again at Rydell High, cliques and popularity complicate everything.
Will Danny and Sandy be able to rekindle their love? Or should it all be left in the summer?
The cast and crew of Medfield Theatre Society cordially invites you to join Danny and Sandy as they navigate their senior year at Rydell High School. Grease: School Version is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Condors Theatricals Company. www.concordtheatricals.com. Book, Music, and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey
Show dates: November 17 and 18 @7:00 PM, and November 19 @2:00 PM
Location: MHS Auditorium, 88 South Street, Medfield, MA

FROM THE ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY
Please PAY IT FORWARD
Every year the graduating class experiences the party of all parties in a very SAFE environment. The only way the kids (who do say it’s one of the most memorable ’school’ events they have ever experienced) can enjoy this is from the amazing generous time from volunteers pulling it all together. Many hands make light work - and fun ‘work’ too!!
Join our committee with friends or even to make new like-minded friends whose mission is to create FUN.
Please consider helping out this year - in ANY capacity.
Underclassmen parents can be part of the planning ready for new parents to take over the reins by the time your kids are in Senior Year. Senior parents can of course help out too, (but not the night of however).
Let's create fun together…
Reach out today to find out how you can help.
