HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHT #5

STUDENT PARKING

  • Parking is designated for seniors, with each eligible driver receiving a numbered parking spot for the school year. The fee for parking on campus is $180/year. All students must register their vehicle(s) with the Assistant Principal prior to receiving a spot assignment and physical parking pass.
  • If there are additional parking spaces available, there will be a parking lottery for eligible juniors. The first lottery is in August for first semester, and the second semester lottery is held in January. Ninth and tenth graders may not drive to school.
  • Students may not visit their cars during the school day without permission from the main office.
  • Students parking on campus are doing so at their own risk, and Medfield High School is not responsible for damages or theft.
  • Medfield High School students and visitors are expected to obey all traffic safety laws and speed limits. Failure to do so will result in possible legal action and revocation of parking privileges.
  • Students are not permitted to transfer or loan parking spots to other students. Sophomores may not park on campus.
  • Students who drive to school without an assigned parking spot or authorization from the main office will receive disciplinary consequences. Violators of the parking expectations may be subject to the loss of current or future on-campus parking privileges.
  • Parking privileges may be revoked for leaving campus without proper authorization.
  • Please be careful in the parking lot. If there is an accident, please do not leave the scene and call the police.
  • Note: For students without parking privileges - Medfield Parks and Rec allows student parking on the street side (left side) of the parking lot at Metacomet park. Do not park on the playground/field side (right side).  If/when you park on Pleasant St. do not park in front of the gate just before the parking lot entrance. Parks and rec need that space open for their vehicles to access the fields.

For more information regarding eligibility, fundraising and more, please visit the General Information section of the MHS Student Handbook.

FROM THE THEATRE SOCIETY

Theatre Society to perform Grease, November 17-19
Grease travels all the way back to 1958, capturing a sugary and idealized view of teenhood in its early stages. Back when love, slumber parties and prom were the main worries of many teenagers, it brings the audience back to simpler times. Guaranteed to spread a wave of nostalgia to an older audience, and a perception of hope and excitement to the younger audience.

Fresh off their summer love, Danny and Sandy never thought they would see each other again. But when their paths cross again at Rydell High, cliques and popularity complicate everything.

Will Danny and Sandy be able to rekindle their love? Or should it all be left in the summer?

The cast and crew of Medfield Theatre Society cordially invites you to join Danny and Sandy as they navigate their senior year at Rydell High School. Grease: School Version is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Condors Theatricals Company. www.concordtheatricals.com. Book, Music, and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey

Show dates: November 17 and 18 @7:00 PM, and November 19 @2:00 PM
Location: MHS Auditorium, 88 South Street, Medfield, MA

Interested in getting involved? The MMA relies on many helping hands, especially for our various events and activities which provide about half of our funding each year. We appreciate any amount of time you can give – big or small!
