FROM THE LMC

Summer Reading 2023 theme: FIND YOUR VOICE!

Our voices have power. We use our voices to share stories, express ourselves, and spark change. Our voices include not only the sounds we make but the words we write, the art we create, the movements we perform, and the actions we take each day to impact our world.

This year, the Medfield High School summer reading program for grades 9-12 is themed-based. We want every student to choose a book that speaks to them! Instead of providing a list of “must read” titles, we would like students to choose their own adventure and find a book that they believe fits in with the theme of “Find Your Voice."

FROM SEPAC

At SEPAC, we like to advocate, educate and celebrate. We also like to connect and have two new ways to connect.

Many in our community say they'd like to connect with families with loved ones with similar diagnoses. We are EXCITED to offer our first parent & caregiver connection group! A SEPAC board member who has a child with Down Syndrome will facilitate this connection group. If you or someone you know cares for someone with Down Syndrome and wants to connect, please email sepac@email.medfield.net to be added to the group.

We hope you'll RSVP for our End-of-year celebration, on June 13th, 5 pm, at Hinkley Park. This is an excellent opportunity for families to meet and make connections. The SEPAC board will provide popsicles. Families are encouraged to make a night of it and bring whatever snacks/ dinner items they'd like. Please RSVP by using this LINK

FROM THE SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Here is a handy guide to SUMMER STEM OPPORTUNITIES for students.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM

Are you interested in broadening your global perspective? Are you intrigued by the prospect of taking a deep dive into another culture? The Global Citizenship Program may be right for you! Students who successfully complete this program will receive a Certificate of Global Competence during their senior year at MHS. Students independently work through the components of the program which include travel, world language study, community service, a focus project, a presentation, and an essay. Interested students should email the GCP Advisor, Sra. Hamilton, at phamilton@email.medfield.net and visit the GCP SITE.  This program is time-intensive and thus may be best suited for students entering their sophomore or junior year.
