FROM THE WRITING CENTER: FOR THE CLASS OF 2024

Knock one of your important college application to do tasks off your list:
Come to the Writing Center to start, check in on, or even finalize your College Application essays!

Completing this crucial essay early not only takes one more item off your college app to do list but takes another college app conversation with your parents/guardians off the table too! Sometimes colleges also publish their supplement questions at this point. You're welcome to come to the Writing Center and work on those too.

Remember, it's easy to sign up for Flex Writing Center appointments via your My Flex Learning app.

Having problems getting an appointment? Just email me:
bwren-burgess@email.medfield.net

You've got this!
WB

PS: And of course, all students are welcome to continue to make appointments in the Writing Center for help on all your writing:
  • essays
  • LARPS
  • scholarship applications
  • job & internship applications
  • resumes
  • cover letters

Girls Talk Math at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Girls Talk Math (GTM) is a FREE mathematics and media day camp for rising 9th-12th grade students. Its goal is to encourage girls, non-binary students, and other student populations who are underrepresented in STEM to pursue higher education and careers in these fields.

Camp will be hosted on WPI campus from July 10th to 21st, Monday to Friday, 9AM to 4PM. During GTM, students work in groups on a challenging STEM problem set and research the life and work of a scientist from a marginalized group. Student teams produce a blog post about the STEM topic they learned and write and record a podcast about the scientist they researched.

Girls Talk Math is free for all attendees and daily lunches, snacks, and school supplies will be provided. A $250 stipend will be paid to each camper upon the successful completion of the program.

Apply here!

Read more about the program on the Girls Talk Math @ WPI website (in English and Español). Don't hesitate to reach out to girlstalkmath@wpi.edu with any questions.

FROM THE ANGP

Pay it forward and volunteer to help the Class of 2023 celebrate their Graduation in a fun, memorable, and SAFE party space at Medfield High School.

Parents of Seniors are not allowed to volunteer during the All Night Grad Party. It’s really not cool to have your own parent or guardian at the same party watching over you!! So as you’re more cool, please consider volunteering your time to help keep the Seniors safe during the night of June 3rd going into the morning of June 4th. Time flies as it’s such a fun and entertaining night.

Graduation is on a Saturday this year, so you’ll be able to sleep it off all day Sunday or come in early Sunday morning to help dismantle it all.

Your student will be graduating before you know it, so let's keep this really fun 30 year Medfield tradition alive by helping the ANGP team put on the party of the year for these deserving seniors.
