November 19, 2021 --
Dear Medfield Families,
Schools across the Commonwealth are seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks. In Medfield, we are also seeing an increase, as well as a similar pattern to last year with multiple positive cases in the same household. We have been able to vaccinate 420 students in the past two weeks and plan to have another clinic as soon as additional vaccines become available to us. Our high vaccination rates in our secondary grades have helped us keep our positive cases low at that level.
We have been informed that seven students and one staff member at Memorial, twelve students at Wheelock, five students at Dale Street, and four students at Blake have tested positive this week for COVID-19. Community and in-school close contacts have been identified and informed. We have implemented the "Test and Stay" protocols for any in-school close contacts. Many of these positive cases were identified through our pooled testing program. Please note the company that DESE has contracted with to provide our pooled testing will not test next week but will resume testing the week of November 29th.
I wish you a safe and happy weekend.
Sincerely,
Jeff Marsden
