November 15, 2020 --
Dear Medfield Families,
We have been informed that a student at Memorial School has tested positive for COVID-19. This student did participate with in-person classes during the infectious period, which the MA Department of Public Health has defined as 48 hours prior to the beginning of symptoms, or if asymptomatic, 48 hours prior to the test collection. There are no in-school close contacts for this student and the community contact tracing is ongoing.
At this point, we have no evidence of in-school transmission with any of these cases. We continue to adhere to our mitigation strategies of mask-wearing, handwashing, physical distancing, along with using gallons of sanitizer and thousands of disinfectant wipes district-wide. As a reminder, it is critical that families whose students/family members test positive for COVID-19 report the results to our school nurses and the Medfield Health Department. It's also very important not to send your child to school if they are not feeling well.
Sincerely,
Jeff Marsden
