October 28, 2020 --
Dear Parents,
As I communicated to you last night, Medfield High School has a significant number of close contacts attributed to a recent COVID-19 positive case. Given the data around the incubation period and in a proactive effort to mitigate risk to our MHS students and staff, Thursday, October 29th will be a "Remote Day" for MHS only. IMPORTANT- It is the expectation that both Cohorts A and B will attend the remote day tomorrow. Mr. Parga will be emailing a schedule later today.
In addition, all MHS athletics and activities will be canceled or postponed from Wednesday, October 28th to Sunday, Nov 1st. With our professional development day on Friday, this will give us five days to identify if any additional positive cases surface from the list of close contacts or close contacts that have not yet been identified. Recognizing that Halloween is this weekend, I can not emphasize enough the importance of staying vigilant around mask-wearing, hand washing, and staying away from large groups of people. We really need your help to keep our kids in school.
We had another positive case at MHS this morning that is unrelated to this case. The student has not been in school for an extended period of time and there are no in-school or community close contacts.
Thanks for your support,
Jeff Marsden
