Dear Medfield Families,
Happy New Year!
Winter weather has arrived and there could be days that will not be safe for students and staff to travel. We consider various factors before closing school, including the forecasted intensity and duration of the weather, the impact on travel conditions, and the ability of our facilities to remain safe and operational. Please keep in mind that the decision to cancel school cannot always be made the night before and sometimes needs to be made very early in the morning after consultation with the Medfield DPW and our facility staff.
We will again utilize the Blackboard-Connect System to notify families if school is closed, delayed, or dismissed early. The phone call will be sent to each landline and cell phone that is currently on file with the District.
In addition to the phone call, the announcement will appear on:
· X ( Formerly Twitter) - Follow me @JeffreyJMarsden (I do this first)
·Television Stations: Boston 25, WBZ 4, WCVB 5, and WHDH 7
·Our district website: www.medfield.net
Please remember that there will be times when school is not canceled, delayed, or dismissed early and the weather is still inclement. Those days will feature slower travel for buses and cars, but will not necessarily require a change in the normal schedule. If you ever feel it is unsafe to travel, you always have the option to keep your child/children home.
Wishing you all of the best in 2024,
Jeff Marsden
