GUIDANCE OFFICE NEWS

Summer Schedule - The guidance secretary, Sue Curtis, will be in several days this summer to process transcripts and work permits:  June 25, July 19, July 24, August 9 and August 13, between the hours of 8:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Please note: The new REAL ID from the Massachusetts RMV requires a document on school letterhead for students applying for permits or licenses. Medfield High School report card is considered acceptable documentation. Please download a copy of your student's report card as soon as it is posted.  Report cards are available for a limited time on Aspen.

Work Permits -The application for a student work permits is available on the Medfield High School website under the Forms and Documents tab. For student 14-15 year old students, a doctor's signature is required. Please have the employer fill out the front page of the application and sign it, once completed we can issue a work permit. Permits can be issued at Medfield High School or at Town Hall 3rd floor during the summer break.

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL will be on Wednesday, August 29th.  We follow a special schedule as we have in previous years.  More information will be forthcoming in August on the website at medfield.net and/or via email. HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY SUMMER!

FALL ATHLETICS MEETING ON MONDAY, JUNE 4th

On Monday, June 4th, at 7:00 pm, there will be a meeting held in the gymnasium at the Medfield High School for all athletes and a parent(s) interested in playing high school athletics this coming fall season at Medfield.  This meeting is very important and will cover many questions and concerns you may have, as well as introductions to all high school coaches and staff.

EVENING OF EXCELLENCE

The annual Evening of Excellence award ceremony for grade 9 - 11 students will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 6:30 PM in the gym.  Families of students receiving awards will have been notified by email.

Rachel Tatro selected to Massachusetts Art All-State!  Massachusetts Art All-State is “an intense 2 day program that brings together 145 high school juniors of exceptional talent and commitment to work with practicing artists to create collaborative installations.”  Principal Robert Parga is proud to announce that MHS junior, Rachel Tatro, has been selected to participate in this highly competitive program on June 8th and 9th. Congratulations to Rachel! GO WARRIORS!

The Medfield PTO will meet on Wednesday, June 6th at 7:00 PM in the HS Library.  All MHS parents are invited to attend.

Students should arrive at school on time. They should wear comfortable clothing and dress in layers as the temperature in the classrooms can vary.  Students are encouraged to bring snacks, which may be eaten after testing. Please note: NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES may be used by students during the testing session.  Cell phones must be zipped into backpacks. Use of electronic devices may result in a voided test for that day.

GRADUATION is this Sunday and the time has finally come for ANGP's BIG REVEAL!  

MHS Families are INVITED to get a preview this SATURDAY from 12:00 noon-2:00 PM. Of course, NO graduates are allowed and you will have to keep the "theme" top secret for the weekend! Please enter through the gym doors facing the football field (there will be a sign posted).

Wednesday Decorating Workshop - Come help out this Wednesday from 6:30-9pm as we pull all the pieces together for the weekend.

Weekly News Update - May 21, 2018

Principal Robert Parga is proud to announce that senior, Kate Travis, has been named as a NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT! Kate entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship competition along with 1.6 million other students and was one of 15,000 distinguished NMSC Finalists.  She will be one of only 7,500 students to be awarded this scholarship. Best wishes and congratulations to Kate!  GO WARRIORS!

The MHS Site Council meeting is Monday, May 21st at 3:15 pm in the main office conference room.

Congratulations to the 10 MHS recipients of MMA summer scholarships at POPs! Sophomore Ethan Ni received the special Music Horizons Dan Mullaney Memorial Scholarship for summer camp. This scholarship was established through the MMA by the family of 2007 Jazz Band/Band alumnus Dan Mullaney, who passed away tragically last year in a workplace accident. Junior Alyssa Shen also received an MMA camp scholarship, and the following students received MMA lesson scholarships: Evan Volkin, Jack Shurtleff, Molly Carpenter, Sammy Drumm, Connor Howells, Nolan Franks and Edward Achuck.

The Medfield Coalition for Public Education invites you to their ANNUAL MEETING  being held on Thursday, May 24th at the lovely Zullo Gallery in Medfield at 7:00 pm.  All are welcome!
