Elementary World Languages Program

We are excited to offer our young students their first journey toward proficiency in another language. We hope this document,  Elementary World Languages 2019 Presentation, can help guide your decision.

Our Mandarin and Spanish teachers and some of their students will perform a presentation on January 24th for our Grade 1 students at Memorial to familiarize them
with the languages before this year’s selection window opens. After the presentation, a Google form will be shared with Grade 1 parents to select your child’s
language for Grade 2.

Choose to Be Nice

Every day there are opportunities when children and adults have to make all kinds of choices. This year, our school is using a program called “Choose To Be Nice.” A simple but powerful message, Choose To Be Nice is a social movement dedicated to encouraging and inspiring kindness. The goal is to improve the way people interact with each other by reminding them that they have a choice about how to “be” in the world. It all starts
with a simple promise:

"I promise to help spread kindness wherever and whenever possible. And to the very best of my ability, I’ll be nice to those with whom I come into contact on a daily basis.”

The goal is to have at least 1 million people from around the world make the Choose To Be Nice promise. Imagine our school being included in that 1 million, as we become an official Choose To Be Nice school!
