Dear Incoming 6th Grade Parents/Guardians,
I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation! I would like to officially welcome you to the Blake Middle School community. You have three exciting and often challenging years ahead as your child travels through the middle school years. Our school is shaped and guided by the needs of this age group and works to assure a safe and supportive student-centered environment for all to grow and succeed.
This Wednesday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m., we will present an informational program that will introduce you to many of the programs at Blake. We will also take some time to discuss our technology initiatives and iPad program for students. It is our hope that all parents/guardians attend. During the evening we will highlight aspects of our Program of Studies (Blake Program of Studies 2019-2020), and share information about our world language and music programs. Sixth grade students at Blake will select French, Spanish, or Mandarin and will continue studying their selected choice in seventh and eighth grade. We encourage all students to stay with the same course of their world language choice for their middle school experience. Below please find links to the Course Selection Google Forms that all parents/guardians must complete by Friday, March 1...
As a reminder we will be holding an informational session prior to the Incoming 6th Presentation for all Blake parents/guardians about the 'Dangers and Risks of Vaping' on Wednesday, 2/27 from 6:00-6:30 p.m. here at Blake. Please RSVP via this Google Form if you are planning on attending this informational session. Within the form there is a place to share any questions you have about this topic...
We strongly believe that Blake is an exciting place for students to learn and grow and look forward to this journey with you. You will play an integral part in your child’s transition to middle school and in his/her early adolescent development. We hope that you will get involved and stay involved as we work together to support all of our students. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.
